Ben Johnson joined Kennedy & Graven in 2002 after working in Dorsey & Whitney's Billings, Montana office as a tax attorney. Ben's practice focuses on public finance with an emphasis on revenue bond work for cities, counties, and underwriters of municipal bonds. He advises cities, counties, and underwriters in all aspects of public finance relating to the issuance of revenue bonds, general obligation bonds, tax increment financing, and other financing matters.

Ben is a native of Anoka, Minnesota. He graduated from Montana State University in 1997 with a B.A. in History and from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2000. During law school, Ben clerked for the Anoka County Attorney's Office and Gaasedelen & Goldberg P.A. in Edina, Minnesota. After law school, Ben worked for a small law firm in St. Paul, Minnesota and then moved to Montana for a short time to work for Dorsey & Whitney LLP.

Ben and his wife Michele, are happy to be back in the Twin Cities. Ben is an avid University of Minnesota and Minnesota Wild hockey fan. Away from the office, Ben enjoys many hobbies, including alpine skiing, flyfishing, and cooking.
