Bob Alsop is a shareholder in the firm of Kennedy & Graven, Chartered, and practices in the areas of Employment Law, Housing Law, Litigation, and Local Government Law. He has over ten years of experience as a litigator in each of those areas.

Bob earned a B.A. in Political Science from St. Olaf College in 1981. Following college Bob worked as a law clerk to the predecessor firm of Kennedy & Graven while attending law school at William Mitchell College of Law and subsequently joined the firm as an attorney in 1986. During his years with the firm, Bob has developed into an accomplished litigator with extensive experience in all phases of the litigation process in both state and federal court. Bob complements his litigation practice with sound preventative legal advice to his clients. In the rapidly evolving area of Employment Law, he is particularly adept at identifying legal issues and effectively communicating the law to clients in practical terms. Bob also has extensive appellate practice experience and has been retained to brief and argue numerous cases before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Minnesota Supreme Court.

Among his many past and current community service and professional activities, Bob has been a volunteer ski instructor for individuals with developmental disabilities. He has also enjoyed spending time as a reading instructor and scout leader at Expo Elementary School in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Bob has this to say about Kennedy & Graven:

The practice of law requires an attorney to identify, interpret, and effectively articulate the law to a client's optimum advantage. The collegial atmosphere at Kennedy & Graven allows each attorney to easily draw upon the knowledge and skills of the other practitioners within the firm to service the varied needs of our clients. This atmosphere makes the practice of law at Kennedy & Graven both enjoyable and fulfilling.
