
Carlos Soto-Quezada
Carlos Soto-Quezada is a litigation associate at Kennedy & Graven, Chartered and a member of the firm’s school law team. Carlos is a first generation Mexican American and the first in his family to become an attorney.
Prior to joining Kennedy & Graven in 2026, Carlos practiced municipal, land use, and civil rights law at a renowned firm in the southern metro. Carlos additionally possesses a wealth of appellate experience, having practiced before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, Minnesota Supreme Court, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Carlos is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, where he participated in the Binger Center for New Americans Rural Immigrant Access Clinic and the Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Moot Court. Prior to law school, Carlos was an upper elementary school teacher in the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, where he taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grade, self-contained.
Outside of the law, Carlos is involved in the Twin Cities live-reality-game community, enjoys recreational volleyball and kickball, and spending time with his fiancée, Katelyn.
